10 Days in the USA is an easy-to-learn board game that teaches the location of the states in a fun way. The rules are simple: you just have to be the first to connect 10 states together by foot, car and/or plane. You choose ten state cards to begin, and on your turn you draw a card, and then discard a card, swapping out your cards until you’ve made a string of 10 connected states. Each card shows the shape of the state, the capital, the size in square miles and the population, so you could easily throw in some memory drills during the game to help kids learn!

While the recommended age is ten to adult, we played with a 6 year old and we think most children 7 years and older could play. There isn’t any reading involved, other than reading the names of the states, and we would say the game is about 70% strategy and 30% luck of the cards you draw.

Game play is quick. With 2 players, the game took us an average of eight minutes. With three players, it took ten to twenty minutes. It’s fun and addictive – we played for close to an hour and didn’t get bored. Because it’s easy to set up (2-3 minutes to set up the board and cards) and quick to play, it’s a great choice when you just have a few minutes.
